Open Tab Sync
Xmarks syncs and stores your open tabs on supported browsers and computers.
Enable Open Tab
Manage your Open Tab settings:
- Click the Xmarks icon.
- Xmarks Settings will appear.
- Select the "Sync" tab.
- Under "Synchronization Types", enable or disabled Open Tabs.
- Enter a name for your computer into the text field.
- Click "OK" to save your settings and exit.
Once this feature is enabled, a simple sync (Xmarks icon > Synchronize Now) will save your windows and browsers.
Open Remote Tabs
Access your Open Tabs:
In Chrome and Safari:
- Left-click the Xmarks icon.
- Select Open Remote Tab.
In Internet Explorer and Firefox:
- Right-click the Xmarks icon.
- Select Open Remote Tab.
Open Tab Hotkey for Firefox only: Ctrl+Shift+Y
Once you've opened your Remote Tab list (shown below), select a browser or a specific tab to open that site(s) in your current browser.
Open Tabs for Mobile Devices
Premium members can view and access their tabs on supported smartphones and tablets.
- Login to the Xmarks App.
- Select "Xmarks Mobile" (located in the top left corner).
- Select "Open Remote Tabs".
- Your list of computers, windows and browser will appear.
- Click on an entry to launch in Xmarks Mobile.
(Please note that these steps and screenshots will look different in Safari.)
Clear Tab Data
To clear your Open Tab data:
- Go to my.xmarks.com.
- Select "Tools".
- Select "Open Remote Tabs".
- Click "Clear Data".
- The list that appears shows each browser for which Xmarks has open tabs. Select the browsers whose data you wish to remove from the Xmarks servers by checking the box to the left.
- Click "Delete".
